IBM LUM

OpenLM monitors IBM LUM through OpenLM Broker. The Broker queries usage locally and forwards data to OpenLM Server. It requires Java JRE and runs on both Windows and UNIX/Linux servers.

Before you begin

  • OpenLM Platform.
  • OpenLM Broker v25.x or later, installed on the same machine as IBM LUM and approved in Broker Hub.
  • Java JRE on the IBM LUM host.

Configure OpenLM Broker

Option 1 — Detect IBM LUM automatically

  1. Open the Broker UI at http://localhost:5090/.
  2. Go to License Managers and select Detect.
  3. Confirm IBM LUM appears in the list.
  4. Select Validate, then Save.

Option 2 — Add IBM LUM manually

  1. Open the Broker UI at http://localhost:5090/.

  2. Go to License ManagersAdd License Manager.

  3. From License Manager Type, select LUM.

  4. Enter the port number (default: 1515), then select Add.

  5. Configure the Cluster toggle:

    • Off: single server.
    • On: for High Availability LUM (HAL).
  6. In Commands, set the path to i4blt.exe.

  7. In Vendors, set the correct vendor name.

  8. Select Save.

Approve IBM LUM in OpenLM Platform

  1. Sign in to OpenLM Platform.
  2. From the menu, go to License ServersPending Server.
  3. Select the IBM LUM license manager, then select Approve and Merge.

Verify the integration

  1. In OpenLM Platform, go to License Servers LiveServer Statistics.
  2. Confirm IBM LUM appears with a green status indicator.

It can take up to 3 minutes for the status to update for a new connection.
