title: Install Workstation Agent
description: Install the OpenLM Workstation Agent on end-user machines to collect application activity data.
product: OpenLM Platform
---

The Workstation Agent runs on end-user machines. It collects application process data and sends it to the OpenLM Platform through the [Agents Hub](https://openlm.com/documentation/cloud/data-collection/agents_hub).

## Before you begin

- Verify that the target machines meet the [system requirements](https://openlm.com/documentation/cloud/deployment-operations/system-requirements).
- Confirm you have the [authorization file](https://openlm.com/documentation/cloud/getting-started/authorize-components) for the Workstation Agent. You can use one file per machine or a shared file, depending on your deployment strategy.
- Confirm that the machines have internet access (port 443).

## Installation steps

Download the Workstation Agent installer for your platform from the [Downloads page](https://www.openlm.com/downloads/).

Run the installer on the end-user machine. Follow the on-screen prompts.

Upload the authorization file generated in the [Authorize components](https://openlm.com/documentation/cloud/getting-started/authorize-components) step.

After installation, the agent connects to the OpenLM Platform automatically. Navigate to the **Agents Hub** and confirm the agent appears.

For detailed platform-specific instructions (Windows, Linux RPM, DEB, tar.gz), interactive walkthroughs, and troubleshooting, see [Install and configure OpenLM Components](https://openlm.com/documentation/cloud/deployment-operations/components-installation).
