What is LM-X?
LM-X is license management software developed by X-Formation, a small Danish company. Their customers are primarily based in Europe but do include ABB, LUK, and NASA. LM-X is able to run on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS, as well as several open-source platforms. The license manager supports network, node-locked, token-based, and pay-per-use licensing. LM-X also integrates with HASP dongles for customers who want both hardware and software license protection. License borrowing and grace periods are also supported.

Who is X-Formation?
X-Formation is a small Danish independent software vendor that supplies license management software to about 600 customers. Although a small organization, they have some large organizations as clients, including ABB, LUK, NASA, and Thales Alenia, although the recent acquisition of Gemalto by Thales may end that relationship. Their product is LM-X License Manager, which runs on most platforms, including Mac OS. X-Formation also has a license activation and a statistical reporting product. The company, which was formed in 2004, has headquarters based in Aarhus, Denmark, with the development team situated in Krakow Poland, and has around 25 employees.
